According to Deadline, Zack Morris (Goosebumps, EastEnders) has been added to the recurring cast of HBO Max‘s hit medical drama The Pitt‘s second season. This series is in production and will premiere in January.
The Pitt narrates the imminent challenges that U.S. frontline healthcare professionals must overcome in the emergency department of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. From creator R. Scott Gemmill (JAR, ER) and producer John Wells (Overtime, One Must Fall), the series follows an hour-by-hour real-time format, tracking medical cases as well as personal crises that physicians and nurses navigate as they deal few resources and an overabundance of patients.
Morris is playing Jackson Davis, who is a patient that was brought to the ER after a turbulent outburst in a college library, Deadline states.
The Pitt cast is led by executive producer and writer Noah Wyle (ER, The Librarians), Isa Briones (Goosebumps, Takers) Katherine LaNasa (Satisfaction, The Campaign), Shabana Azeez (The Hunting, The Letdown), Taylor Dearden (The Last Champion, Heartthrob), Gerran Howell (Young Dracula, Ludwig), Fiona Dourif (Chucky, Cult of Chucky), Patrick Ball (Law & Order), and Supriya Ganesh (Spoiler Alert, The Principles of Pleasure). Series regular Sepideh Moafi (Black Bird, Class of ‘09), Irene Choi (Arena, Insatiable), Charles Baker (Breaking Bad, Splinter), Lucas Iverson (The Gilded Age, Boys Night), Laëtitia Hollard (Ravel, Transaster) and Lawrence Robinson (Brotherly Love, Three Ways) have been added as to the Season Two cast as recurring.
Emmy nominee Shawn Hatosy (Animal Kingdom, The Faculty) is directing the ninth episode of Season Two, which is taking place over the Fourth of July weekend. Wyle is also taking on some directing duties, and he will be working more closely with Hatosy.
Season One of The Pitt has received TCA and Gotham TV awards, as well as 12 Emmy nominations for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Hatosy. Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Wyle, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for LaNasa, Deadline adds.
The first season of this medical drama will air on TNT, Deadline mentions.
The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where JWP is under a deal. Gemmill created The Pitt and he executive produces alongside Wyle, Wells, Simran Biadwan (Manifest, Clean Slate), Michael Hissrich (The West Wing, My Own Worst Enemy), JWP’s Erin Jontow (Untamed, Emperor of Ocean Park).
Morris is starring in The Bluff, Amazon and ABGO’s upcoming feature film, directed by Frank E. Flowers (Haven, Metro Manila) and produced by Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame, The Gray Man). Morris is acting alongside Karl Urban (The Boys, Dredd) and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Love Again, Baywatch). The film is set to release in early 2026, Deadline reports.
Previously, Morris starred opposite Justin Long (Barbarian, Jeepers Creepers) in Hulu and Disney+’s show Goosebumps, based on the book series by R.L. Stein (The Prom Queen, Monster Blood). He received a Kids’ Choice Award nomination for his depiction of Isaiah Howard. Morris also has several theater credits, ranging from major productions on the West End, including Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Oliver. He is represented by Creative Artists Management in the UK and Elevate Entertainment in the U.S., according to Deadline.
