‘Yellowjackets’ Season Two Adds Nicole Maines, François Arnaud, Nia Sondaya To Cast

Showtime’s Yellowjackets has added a new slew of actors to its talented cast, according to Comic Book. Joining the second season of the anticipated drama thriller are Nicole Maines (Bit, Supergirl), François Arnaud (The Borgias, Blindspot), and Nia Sondaya (Truth Be Told, Heart Shot).

Maines will portray Lisa as “an associate of adult Lottie who is trying to recover from past trauma,” via Comic Book. Arnaud will play Paul for four episodes, who is “a New York writer and secret boyfriend of Coach Scott who reminds Coach Scott of what might have been.” Sondava will be replacing Keeya King (Van Helsing, Rush for Your Life) as teen Akilah.

Yellowjackets became a hit show when it debuted in 2021, claiming five million viewers weekly and even reaching the No. 2 spot on Showtime’s most streamed series list. The series received seven Emmy Award nominations, a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and has already been renewed for a third season.

At the forefront of the show are Emmy nominees Christina Ricci (Casper, Black Snake Moan), Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers, Cape Fear), and Melanie Lynskey (Togetherness, Heavenly Creatures), along with Tawny Cypress (Brooklyn’s Finest, World Trade Center). Lynskey has also won the Critics Choice Award for her role as adult Shauna in the series. Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers, For The People),  Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief, Pawn Sacrifice), Liv Hewson (Dramaworld, Santa Clarita Diet), Courtney Eaton (Gods of Egypt, Mad Max: Fury Road), and Samantha Hanratty (Shameless, Zoe Gone) will return for season two as the teenaged versions of the Yellowjackets soccer team.

Actresses Simone Kessell (Reckoning, Outlaws) and Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, Psycho Beach Party) will be playing adult Lottie and Van, respectively, as series regulars. Elijah Wood (Sin City, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring) will guest star for a season-long arc.

Yellowjackets will return for its second season on Friday, March 24, 2023, via the streaming service. It will also air on the Showtime network on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 9 p.m. EST. The official trailer is available below.
