The recent debut of Yellowjackets on Showtime presented several different experiences that characters had to endure; which many viewers would not want to experience themselves. However, according to Comicbook, fans can take part in safer version of the series at this year’s South by Southwest conference in a three-day camping event. Titled “Camp Yellowjackets,” attendees will be able to immerse themselves in many key elements of the first season, from frigid terrain to many makeshift food options survivors had to consume.
According to Variety, the experience many individuals will be able to undergo will create a 1990s look of a summer camp that has been abandoned. Fans will be able to locate many different Easter eggs from the series while searching through the campsite. There will be many activities amongst them including ax throwing, BBQ, and specialty cocktails.
Executive Vice President of Marketing at Showtime Networks Puja Vohra shared, “Camp Yellowjackets’ is an exclusive, excitingly unsettling, Yellowjackets-themed destination. It’s been our passion and our privilege to open up the world of this amazing series to viewers everywhere, and we can’t wait for ‘Campers’ to immerse themselves in clues of what really happened out there.”
Yellowjackets tells the story of a very talented high school girl’s soccer team who survived a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness. The psychological drama series shows the team’s descent from a complicated but thriving team to a cannibalistic clan.
”Camp Yellowjacket” will open on the first weekend of South by Southwest from Friday, March 10 to Sunday, March 12 in Austin. The event will start with a private opening Friday and then be open from 11 am to 6 pm CT on Saturday and Sunday. Fans who want to try the event can sign up at CampYellowjackets.com.
The new season of Yellowjackets will premiere on March 26 at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime. Season one is currently available to stream on the platform.
