‘X-Men ’97’ Tops Charts With A Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

X-Men ’97, the latest revival of the animated series of X-Men, has been sitting pretty on the top of the charts since its release. According to comicbook.com, the series has scored a perfect 100% on the Rotten Tomatoes critic score charts and continues to be met with rave reviews. With this, the newest generation of Marvel and superhero movies have been off to nothing but a very strong start.

The producer of the series Brad Winderbaum sat down and talked with comicbook.com about the series. On the podcast that he was on, the producer expressed the positive time he had while working on it from the nostalgia that the revival brought, to having an open and comfortable environment for the creatives to work in and be a part of.

“Well, actually, it was kind of liberating to be able to stay in the 90s,” Winderbaum told comicbook.com. “It allowed us to go places that we could just do what we want. To be so iterative. Things that we couldn’t do if we were more MCU adjacent like What If…? is. I mean, What If…? is like we’re literally remixing the MCU. So, it’s harder to introduce characters. Because you want to see them in live-action. Although, we do see Bill Foster as Giant Man in the second season. That’s new!”

While the new show has its spins in an effort to update the series, many fans are very happy to see that the new series holds true and accurately to the original animated series from the 90s. With a stellar score of 89% among audiences, X-Men ‘97 has created a nice spot for itself high up on the Rotten Tomatoes charts.

X-Men ‘97 hit streaming services on March 20, 2024, and has been met with primarily rave reviews from fans, new audiences, and critics alike. You can stream the series on Disney+.
