Per a Disney press release, Marvel Animation‘s X-Men ’97 is being released March 20th on Disney+. The ten episode series is slated to be a revival of the ’90s animated series.
The release date for the series was initially 2023 but was postponed due to the writers and actors strike.
Per the Disney logline, “X-Men ’97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.”

The series is led by head writer Beau DeMayo (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Witcher) with Jake Castorena (Reign of the Supermen, Batman Unlimited), Chase Conley (Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Major Lazer) and Emi Yonemura (Gen: Lock, Onyx Equinox) directing episodes. The series is executive produced by Victoria Alonso (Avengers: Endgame, Iron Man), DeMayo, Louis D’Esposito (Captain America: The First Avenger, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Kevin Feige (Black Panther, Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Brad Winderbaum (Satacracy 88, Thor: Ragnarok).
