The return of judge Simon Cowell has boosted the competition series’ ratings above its 2012 and 2013 premiere ratings, The Hollywood Reporter has noted.
The X Factor debuted its 11th season on ITV1 last night with a 9.5 million viewer average, peaking at 10.6 million viewers.
Last year’s premiere drew in 9.2 million average viewers, up from the 8.7 million in 2012.
