According to Comicbook, FX has recently premiered the second season of the award-winning series The Bear, which has been receiving some positive reviews. As the season aired, it was revealed early on that Will Poulter (We’re the Millers, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ) would be appearing in the series. Although this is the case, it seems the actor went to great lengths to be cast in the series. In an interview with Variety, he revealed that he actually ”begged” to be on the show.
Poulter revealed to Variety, “I called them. I literally begged to be in the show. I asked if I could meet with Chris Storer and basically communicated that I was such a fan of so much of his work, but especially The Bear. He was kind enough to gift me with the offer to play Luca and it really changed my life, to be honest. It kind of helped me realize a dream of playing a chef on TV. I have such an immense amount of respect for chefs and the women and men of that industry. I feel like the whole society stands on the shoulders of people in the food and beverage industry, and we don’t even necessarily really know it or think about it. They sustain us and maintain us daily and they don’t get enough thanks for what they do.”
The Bear is about a young man that returns to Chicago to run his family’s sandwich shop after living a life of working in the fine dining world. The series cast includes Jeremy Allen White (Shameless), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls), Ayo Edebiri (What We Do in the Shadows), Abby Elliott (Fun Size), Lionel Boyce (Loiter Squad), Liza Colón-Zayas (In Treatment), Matty Matheson (It’s Suppertime!), Edwin Lee Gibson (Fargo), Oliver Platt (2012), Molly Gordon (Good Boys), and many more.
The Bear is available to stream on Hulu.
