Who Does Christian Slater Play In Disney+’s ‘Willow’

According to ComicBook, on last week’s episode of the Disney+ series, Willow,  many fans saw the return of character originally from the 1988 film with the same name. In September, it was announced atD23 that Christian Slater (Very Bad Things, True Romance) would be joining the series, and with this came much speculation on who he would be playing. One speculation was that Slater would be taking on the mantle of Val Kilmer’s (The Door, Top Gun: Maverick) role as Madmartigan, and as much as fans would have loved the former knight’s return, sadly it is not the role Slater took on.

Warning: Spoilers.

In ‘’Prisoners of Skellin’’, Slater’s character is found incarcerated and he proclaims to be Madmartigan according to ComicBook. This ends up not being the case as Slater’s character decides to play a trick on Madmartigan’s daughter Kit played by Ruby Cruz (Castle Rock), and Willow played by Warwick Davis (Moominvalley). Slater’s character convinces them at first by saying, “I’m your father, and I’ve missed the hell out of you.” Eventually, it becomes clear that he is not who he claims to be as he reveals that his name is actually Allagash and he once was an acquaintance of Madmartigan and fought alongside him in the Battle of Land’s end.

According to ComicBook, Allagash claims to Kit that her father still lives and if she helped him escape he would guide her to him. After rescuing Allagash he proclaims that Madmartigan had entered a secret vault before his sudden disappearance. This leads Kit to seek the vault and as she searches in it she finds her father’s sword along with his voice begging for help. Although Allagash finally escaped, it was short-lived as he died fighting while giving the party a chance to escape the mines.

Six episodes of Willow are currently streaming on Disney+.
