HBO’s The White Lotus has added a new member to its cast: Lisa, member of the Korean girl group Blackpink, Variety exclusively reports. For season three, she is credited as her full name, Lalisa Manobal. The role she will play is still unknown, just like the rest of the third season’s cast. Production of the show is set to start in the next few days in Bangkok, Thailand, and Koh Samui, Phuket. The plot of the show is a secret also except for one slim piece of information: it will focus on The White Lotus resort’s new guests.
According to Variety, the cast for season three of The White Lotus includes Dom Hetrakul (Are We Alright, The Two Fates, The Giver), Leslie Bibb (No Good Deed, About My Father, The Lost Husband), Parker Posey (Beau Is Afraid, Lost in Space, Scream Three), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Peter Pan, Archie), Michelle Monaghan (The Family Plan, Mission: Impossible III, True Detective), Christian Friedel (13 Minutes, The Zone of Interest, The White Ribbon), Tayme Thapthimthong (Thai Cave Rescue, Hooked, Farang), Morgana O’Reilly (Mean Mums, The Sounds, Nude Tuesday), Julian Kostov (Another Mother’s Son, Code Red, Shadow and Bone), Lek Patravadi (In Family We Trust, Mai Mee Sawan Samrab Khun), and Scott Glenn (The Silence of the Lambs, Vertical Limit, Silverado).

The White Lotus’ role for Manobal will be her first time acting in a TV show, according to Variety. She is the second Blackpink member to have participated in an HBO series. Jennie (credited by her full name Jennie Ruby Jane) was the first person in the group to do so with the HBO show The Idol, participating alongside Lily-Rose Depp (The King, Nosferatu, Voyagers) and The Weekend (Uncut Gems, The Weeknd: Live at SoFi Stadium, The 1989 World Tour Live) which premiered on the streamer in June 2023. Manobal is represented by Lloud Co. as an actress. As a singer, she is under contract with YG Entertainment as a Blackpink member and soloist.
The HBO series has been a sudden success, according to Variety, with its debut on the streamer in 2021. Season one was based in Hawaii and has received ten Emmy awards, including for two categories: anthology series and best limited series. Season two was released in Dec. 2022, and based in Sicily. For its second season, the series earned five Emmy wins and 23 nominations, especially for the best drama series category.
The creator, executive producer, and director of The White Lotus, according to Variety, is Mike White (School Of Rock, Enlightened, Brad’s Status). Other executive producers are Mark Kamine (Sweet Girl, Jexi, 21 Bridges) and David Bernad (Immaculate, Magic Magic, Brad’s Status). The Tourism Authority of Thailand has contracted a deal with HBO to help promotion of the show’s third season and filming which, as stated beforehand, will begin soon.
The first two seasons of The White Lotus are available to stream now on HBO.
