The Treme alum has been cast in the new CBS pilot, says TVLine.
The Odd Couple revolves around two friends and roommates, Oscar (Friends’ Matthew Perry) and Felix (Thomas Lennon), who are complete opposites: while Oscar is really messy, Felix is a neat freak.
Pierce will play Teddy, described as a ‘neurotic cop’, who is friends with Oscar and goes to the roommates’ apartment once a week for “Game Night.”
The new CBS comedy is based on Neil Simon’s play with the same name and Matthew Perry will co-exec produce and co-write the script.
Wendell Pierce, best-known for his role as Antoine Batiste in Treme, has also done other works on TV, in shows like Suits, The Michael J. Fox Show and The Wire, among others.
