Netflix will reportedly renew Wednesday for a second season early in the new year, according to Screen Rant. The show’s renewal decision follows its global success since its release, turning the series into a Netflix staple. Season one reached 341.23 million hours viewed in its first week, surpassing Stranger Things 4 as the most viewed English language series in a week on Netflix, via Screen Rant.
Created by Alfred Gough (Smallville, Shanghai Noon) and Miles Millar (Smallville, Spider-Man 2) and directed by Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, The Corpse Bride), Wednesday follows the oldest child of the Addams Family, Wednesday Addams, as she attends Nevermore Academy and attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, and thwart and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents.

In the midst of the season two renewal, Wednesday is searching for new writers to join the writers’ room, as well as scouting locations for the next season, via Screen Rant.
