UPDATE at 11:37 p.m. ET: An hour later, it appears the streamer has resumed operations.
Just mere weeks after the Amazon Web Services crash left many without access to Apple TV, the streamer finds itself down again. This time, it may be due to the arrival of its new sci-fi series, Pluribus. The series from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan had its two-episode premiere tonight, ahead of its previously announced air date, Nov. 7. View the series trailer at the end of the article.
Many Apple TV subscribers were in the middle of the show premiere episode, entitled “We Is Us,” when, at around 10:30 p.m. ET this evening, the episode froze. Soon, clicking play on the screen emitted a simple error message on all devices: “There’s a problem loading this content.” X and BlueSky are live with reactions to the apparent blackout. According to DownDetector, the outage is impacting users across the country.
DownDetector reports that Apple TV is facing service disruptions across the United States, with numerous users affected.

Starring Better Call Saul‘s Rhea Seehorn (StanLand, My Adventures with Superman), Pluribus is a sci-fi drama that finds Seehorn’s Carol Sturka as the world’s unhappiest woman. That is, after an extraterritorial virus has infected the world’s population, leaving the famed author as the planet’s only hope. The cast includes Miriam Shor (Swingtown, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Carlos-Manuel Vesga (A Ton of Luck, The Hijacking of Flight 601), Samba Schutte (Our Flag Means Death, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory), and Karolina Wydra (House, True Blood).
The show arrives only days after the streaming service rebranded as Apple TV, removing the “+” sign with a colorful new logo. Pluribus, bolstering early strong reviews, comes a week after the fifth season of the Emmy-nominated Slow Horses and the arrival of a new British mystery show, Down Cemetery Road, starring Emma Thompson (Matilda: The Musical, Dead of Winter) and Ruth Wilson (The Affair, His Dark Materials).
New episodes of Pluribus are set to release weekly every Friday through December 26.
