Netflix’s live-action One Piece series is building anticipation for its upcoming second season by generating buzz on a certain waxing villain. According to Screenrant, David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, Murderbot), who will play the eccentric Baroque Works agent Mr. 3, goes on to claim that the character will become “number one in your heart.”
Dastmalchian goes on to give a statement in an interview with Screenrant about his interpretation of the character,” The Wax-Wax fruit that Mr 3. ate, which gave him this ability, not only can I shoot wax and control wax, which actually hardens, it becomes like cement, but also there’s flame that goes with it.” Of course Mr.3 will cross paths with the Straw Hat, which consists of Iñaki Godoy (The Imperfects, MexZombies) as Luffy, Emily Rudd (Delicious in Dungeon, Moonshot) as Nami, Mackenyu (Over Drive, Knights of the Zodiac) as Zoro, Taz Skylar (Cleaner, Boiling Point) as Sanji and Jacob Gibson (Greenleaf, The Resident) as Ussopp.
He then continues with excitement of playing the part with Screenrant ,”In the lore of One Piece mythology, which is one of the most brilliant constructs of a mythology, I think, that’s ever been created, because I’m a big comic book fan — you know that I love that world, baby! But [Eiichiro] Oda, who created One Piece, who’s been creating this for decades, the specificity and the way in which people get their special and unique superhuman abilities is most of the time from eating these different fruits.”
According to mxdwn, additional major characters that will be appearing in the second season are Tony Tony Chopper, voiced by Mikaela Hoover (Superman, Guest House), Vivi, played by Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton, Eternals) and Smoker, played by Callum Kerr (The Wheel of Time, Virgin River).
