With The Boys coming to an end and the second season of Gen V arriving next month, the universe that Vought built is gearing up for its third live-action installment. The prequel series, Vought Rising, which focuses on the corporation’s early heroics, released character images of its four main heroes. Prime Video announced the photos on their Instagram profile featuring Jensen Ackles’ (Supernatural, Countdown) Soldier Boy and three new characters. See the post below.

The post is our first introduction to Mason Dye’s Bombsight, who will make his debut in The Boys’ fifth and final season. It also introduces previously announced Elizabeth Posey‘s (Dreamcatcher, Gully) Private Angel and Will Hochman’s (Atrabilious, Master) Torpedo. Production begins this month.
The prequel series was first announced at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con panel. At the time, the only names attached were Ackles and Aya Cash‘s Stormfront. Set in 1950s New York, the series will examine the origins of the heroes-for-hire company and the creation of Compound V. According to previous mxdwn reporting, creator Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Timeless) will join showrunner Paul Grellong (Revolution, Scorpion) on the creative team.
Additional cast members include Kiki Layne (The Old Guard 2, Coming 2 America) and the recently announced Brian J. Smith (Sense8, Treadstone), Ricky Staffeieri (The Bear, Chicago P.D.), Nicolò Pasetti (Industry, The Tasters), and Jorden Myrie (Bridgerton, Screw).
If you’ve been living under a rock for the past five years, The Boys is the gory adaptation of the graphic novel created by Garth Ennis (Vertigo’s Preacher, Hellblazer). In an alternate universe, where superheroes are trained from birth to one day join mega-company Vought’s ranks, a group of unmasked vigilantes seek to expose the corruption behind the supes’ masks. Season four set up an all-too-familiar cliffhanger in which Vought poster boy, Homelander (Antony Starr, Banshee, Outrageous), lobbies for control of the government, aiming to make America super again. As his fascist tyranny rises, the Boys find themselves on the run, hoping to survive long enough for a final fight.
Until Vought rises, fans can find Gen V and all four seasons of The Boys on Prime Video.
