According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paul Bettany (Funny or Die’s High Science, A Very British Scandal) will be reprising his role as Vision on a new Marvel TV series. The new series is currently untitled and has chosen Terry Matalas (12 Monkeys, Terra Nova) as showrunner. Vision will be at the center of the show, which will also be the first series to be ordered at the Marvel studios in some time. The writer’s room for the series will open this week as it is on track to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
Bettany is known for playing the character of Vision in a vast number of Marvel projects. These projects include What If…?, WandaVision, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Although Bettany has played the character of Vision across many titles in the MCU, he has also voiced Jarvis, an AI designed by Tony Stark.
The showrunner, Matalas, has worked on many well-known projects. He recently completed the third season of the space sci-fi series Star Trek: Picard and has even worked on the reboot of MacGyver
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this will be the second series to follow after WandaVision. The first series is Agatha All Along, which has recently announced its premiere date for September. The series will revolve around Kathryn Hahn’s (Glass Onion, Tiny Beautiful Things) character Agatha Harkness, who was Wanda’s neighbor and fellow witch in WandaVision .
Marvel has recently been on a roll with many different projects such as the animated series X-Men ‘97 which recently concluded its first season. OOther than Agatha All Along, Marvel and Disnyey+ have many different series in the works, including Daredevil: Born Again, the third season of What If…?, Ironheart, Eyes of Wakanda, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and many others.
