The vast galaxy of the Star Wars universe continues to expand with news surrounding the second season of Ahsoka being teased by none other than Ezra Bridger, played by Eman Esfandi (Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Red11). According to Comicbook, the plot of the second season has not been revealed yet, but it will likely follow where the prior season ended with Ezra regrouping back with the rebel resistance in order to rescue Ahsoka, played by Rosario Dawn (Terminator Zero, Rent) and Sabine, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Day Shift, The Society), who are stranded on Peridea, while also planning to stop Admiral Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen (Frankenstein, Headhunter).
According to Comicbook, fan speculation and recent rumors offer intriguing hints about what lies ahead in the upcoming season. Hayden Christensen (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jumper) is expected to return as Anakin Skywalker’s Force Ghost, stepping into a mentor role once again to offer wisdom to Ahsoka while observing the dynamic growth between her and her own apprentice, Sabine Wren. Meanwhile, another major narrative arc will follow Baylan Skoll—now portrayed by Rory McCann (Game of Thrones, Hot Fuzz) as he deepens his relentless search for the legendary Mortis Gods.
Reported by Comicbook, Esfandi went on to speak in an interview with Screenrant about what to expect in season two,”A lot of action. Fights, battles, explosions, lightsabers, lasers. I’m having a flashback. So, a lot of action, and I think everybody’s gonna love it. Dave [Filoni] went nuts, and all of us were ready to follow suit of our fearless leader, and it’s gonna be a lot of fun.” Esfandi’s comment suggests that there will be a major shift within the narrative that will reflect Filoni’s signature storytelling,, attempting to replicate a mature tone as in Star Wars: Rebel.
Regardless of the direction Filoni and his team take, season two is shaping up to be an unmissable event for Star Wars fans worldwide. While awaiting on further information surrounding the second season, the entire first season of Ahsoka is available to stream on Disney+.
