It’s a miracle! According to TVLine, Netflix has announced that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be returning for its third season in just a little over three months on May 19.
Upon announcing the news, a new teaser was released for the show, featuring Titus (Tituss Burgess) imitating Beyoncé and swinging a baseball bat around the streets of New York City, even smashing the window of Mikey’s car.
Over the course of the first two seasons, Titus has sung many memorable songs, including “Peeno Noir” in the sixth episode of the first season.
Since the show’s premiere on Netflix in 2015, the show has been critically acclaimed. So far, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has been nominated for 11 Emmy Awards, though they haven’t won an Emmy yet. Jane Krakowski, who plays Kimmy’s (Ellie Kemper) socialite employer Jacqueline, has won a Critics’ Choice Award for her role in the show.
The second season of the show left off on a massive cliffhanger, where viewers found out that Kimmy and Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm) were married while she was being held in the doomsday bunker.
The news of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s third season premiere dates comes days after the announcement of Orange is the New Black’s premiere, the Stranger Things teaser and premiere date that was dropped during the Super Bowl and the season five premiere date and teaser for House of Cards.
To tide fans of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt over until May, the first two seasons are available for streaming on Netflix.
