John Oliver Plans to Air Educational Ads During Morning New Shows for Donald Trump

Desperate times call for desperate measures, folks.

Like most people, the team for Last Week Tonight has been paying special attention to the current goings-on in our political system at the moment. And like many people, they are not happy with what they see.

Indiewire reports that Last Week Tonight aired an episode last night in which the host, John Oliver, once again tackles the current political climate with humor and wit.

The episode began with a 25 minute takedown of Trump and the concept of “alternative facts.” Oliver confronts this worrying new line between fact and fiction, saying, “Faith and facts aren’t like Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton. When you confuse them, shit actually happens.”

So John Oliver’s team has decided to take a proactive step. In order to lessen the confusion somewhat for President Trump, Last Week Tonight created a helpful commercial with a cowboy explaining the nuclear triad. While many would think this is where the joke stops, Last Week Tonight takes it further–this will be an actual commercial that airs during all the morning news show in the Washington, D.C. area.

It’s been a well-reported fact that Trump enjoys morning news shows each morning, and Last Week Tonight hopes that Trump may be able to glean some information from their commercials.

You can watch his whole 25 minute breakdown below, or scroll to 22:29 to see the new commercial:
