Life was much more simple back in 2000. Lindsay Lohan had a promising career ahead of her and Tyra Banks was one of the most respected supermodels in the world. The two teamed up to star in the film Life-Size, which has become a classic among the generation that grew up withthe film.
Life-Size, which originally aired on ABC, is about a doll named Eve, played by Banks, who becomes a human after Casey Stuart, played by Lohan, puts a spell on the doll. The made for television film consistently aired on the Disney Channel and ABC Family, which is now Freeform, during the early 2000’s.
After years of speculation, Variety confirmed in April that sequel is in the works. The film is set to premiere on Freeform, though it was originally expected to air on the Disney Channel. Back in 2015 Banks spoke with Variety about the sequel and confirmed that she planned to reprise the role of Eve. At the time she said, “There is no one else that can play Eve but me, thank you very much! I’m just joking with you, but yes, I am going to be Eve.”
Banks recently told TVGuide.com that writers are hard at work on making the script the best it can be. “We’re working on the script so much,” she said. Now that the news of the sequel has been confirmed, many have wondered if Lohan will take part in the film. Banks revealed, “I have been having a little DM message conversation with Lindsay Lohan because I really want her to come back and I really want her to have some type of significant involvement in the movie.”
Banks may not have been able to confirm if Lohan will make an appearance, but the actress and model did tease that the Life-Size sequel is going to differ from the original film. “This new Life-Size is not going to be the Life-Size that you had back in the day,” she said. “It’s really going to be Eve growing up and Eve experiencing very adult things because it’s on Freeform. It’s not on Disney anymore, so that should let you know.”
Considering a lot of the adult content that is featured on Freeform shows such as The Fosters and Pretty Little Liars, it isn’t hard to believe that Life-Size 2 won’t be as innocent as the film we fell in love with 17 years ago.
Life-Size 2 is planned to premiere in December 2018 during Freeform’s annual 25 Days of Christmas.
