Tyler Labine Cast In CBS Pilot ‘Hannah Royce’s Questionable Choices’

Tyler Labine’s next television stop is at CBS.

Deadline reports that Labine is set to star alongside Alice Eve (Black Mirror, Starter For 10, Star Trek: Into Darkness) in Matt Tarses’ (The Goldbergs, Scrubs, Mad Love) new single-camera comedy pilot for CBS. The pilot, Hannah Royce’s Questionable Choices, is written by Tarses and directed by Steve Pink (Accepted, Hot Tub Time Machine).

Hannah Royce’s Questionable Choices focuses on a woman who has had three different kids with three different men, and the odd sense of family her situation creates. Labine is set to play Barry, the titular Hannah Royce’s (Eve) first husband and father of eldest child Scarlett. He is a former stoner-turned-drivers ed/home-ec teacher who lives in his mom’s house across the street from Hannah. The two met in high school, but their marriage fell apart due to Barry’s childish antics. Kyle Howard and James Earl play Hannah’s two other exes.

Labine has been around for a while, starring in the CW’s Reaper and Hulu’s Deadbeat. He most recently showed up in Fox’s X-Files reboot, and lent his voice to Hunk for Netflix’s Voltron series. Pink, who is directing the pilot, has also been spending time in TV recently. He has stopped by to direct episodes of The DetourAngie TribecaChildren’s HospitalNew Girl and Santa Clarita Diet.

Hannah Royce’s Questionable Choices is executive produced by Tarses, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Dana Honor and Fiona Clark.
