After Disney+’s Ahsoka recasted a fan-favorite character with a heavy heart, Ivanna Sakhno (Pacific Rim Uprising, M3GAN 2.0), who plays Shin Hati, confirmed that her character will reunite with her master, who is dark Jedi Baylan Skoll. According to an interview with The Direct via ScreenRant, Sakhno also hinted that her and her new co-star have lots of screen time in the series.
Jedi Baylan Skoll is now being played by Rory McCann (Game of Thrones, Hot Fuzz) after Ray Stevenson‘s (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) tragic death. Despite the tragedy, Sakhno praised McCann’s work in her comments, saying that there was nobody better to take on the role. ScreenRant writes that she noted her enjoyment working with him and left fans with something to look forward to in the forthcoming season, which was confirmed to be in production back in May.
According to ScreenRant, The Direct asked, “The passing of Ray Stevenson was obviously incredibly tragic, but thankfully, his legacy and the character he brought to the screen will live on forever. And for Season Two, Rory McCann was brought on board to help keep Baylan Skoll’s story alive. I know you can’t speak on the show, but just, what was it like working with him as an actor? And being able to continue that character’s journey and Ray’s legacy?”
“We’re in the middle of filming right now. I’m reporting to you from London, so I, you know, I get to see Rory nearly daily at the moment, and he has been amazing to work with,” Sakhno responded to The Direct via ScreenRant. “I will have his work speak for itself, but he is definitely a gift for us to have. And there couldn’t have been anyone better to take on this role.”
Ahsoka‘s second season currently has no release date, but according to an article on mxdwn, the release window is sometime in 2026.
