‘Tulsa King’ Makes History As One Of Paramount+’s Biggest Hits

According to Deadline, the Sylvester Stallone-led series Tulsa King continues to cement its legacy as a powerhouse for Paramount+, with its second season emerging as one of the streaming platform’s three biggest domestic originals. According to Paramount Global, season two, which concluded on November 17, has reached 13.6 million global households, trailing only Taylor Sheridan’s 1923 and Tulsa King’s first season.

As Deadline mentioned, his milestone further solidifies the success of Paramount+’s dynamic collaboration with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, the producers behind Tulsa King and other hits like 1923 and Landman. The latter recently boasted the biggest global series premiere for the platform in two years, highlighting the studios’ consistent track record of delivering compelling content.

Season two of Tulsa King made waves from the moment it premiered in September, setting an all-time viewership record on its debut day, according to Deadline. The series’ popularity has also translated into robust social media engagement, with Paramount Global reporting 159 million views and 6.1 million engagements related to the show, reflecting staggering increases of 894% and 553%, respectively, compared to its first season. With such a strong performance, the show seems well-positioned for a multi-season future.

Tulsa King stars Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, Rambo, First Blood) as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a recently released mafia capo who builds a new criminal empire in Oklahoma. According to Deadline, the show’s ensemble cast includes Martin Starr (Freaks And Geeks, Silicon Valley, Party Down), Jay Will (Rob Peace, It Doesn’t Matter), Max Casella (Newsies, The Sopranos), Vincent Piazza (Jersey Boys, The Wannabe, Centigrade), Tatiana Zappardino (Swiped, This Is Us, Asking For It), Annabella Sciorra (What Dreams May Come, Cop Land), Neal McDonough (The Shift, Walking Tell, Yellowstone), Frank Grillo (Prison Break, Boss Level, Hounds Of War), Domenick Lombardozzi (Reptile, Fresh Kills, Reacher), Andrea Savage (I’m Sorry, Look Both Ways, Sleeping With Other People), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy, Troy), and Dana Delany (China Beach, Exit To Eden, Tombstone).

The series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, 1883, Wind River), Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, Vinyl, Brooklyn Rules), Craig Zisk (The English Teacher, Weeds, Nip/Tuck), David C. Glasser (Narc, Finestkind), Ron Burkle (The Giver, 3 Days To Kill, Safe Haven), Bob Yari (Mind Games, Gary Matters), David Hutkin (Lioness, 1923, The Agency), Braden Aftergood (Sly, Nobody, Samaritan), and Keith Cox (The Wicked One, The Deed 2018). It continues to thrive as a flagship offering for Paramount+, underscoring the streaming service’s appeal and the enduring star power of Stallone.
