TUDUM: Netflix Reveals Opening Scene and Episode Titles for ‘Heartstopper’ Season Two

The first season of the Netflix series Heartstopper came out in April 2022, and the show was quickly renewed for two more seasons. The series is based on the webcomics created by Alice Oseman (Loveless, Radio Silence), which are now published graphic novels. In preparation for the second season premiering in August, the opening scene as well as all eight episode titles were revealed during Netflix’s global fan event Tudum.

According to Variety, Corinna Brown (Daphne, The Show Must Go Online), who plays Tara, and Kizzy Edgell, who plays Darcy, introduced the first scene of the second season during the Tudum event. Heartstopper is Edgell’s first acting role.

The opening scene of the second season begins with Charlie Spring, played by Joe Locke (Agatha: Coven of Chaos), waking up for school. He takes the bus with his sister Tori Spring, played by Jenny Walser (Call the Midwife), and is shown texting his boyfriend Nick Nelson. Nick, played by Kit Connor (Rocketman, Ready Player One), and Charlie made their relationship official in the season one finale. The scene ends with them ready to conquer the school year together.

As Variety notes, after showing the opening scene, the titles for each episode of season two were revealed. The episode titles are as follows: 1. Out, 2. Family, 3. Promise, 4. Challenge, 5. Heat, 6. Truth/Dare, 7. Sorry, 8. Perfect.

The first season of Heartstopper was filled with much hardship for Nick and Charlie as they navigated bullying, coming out, friendship drama, mental health concerns, and identity crises. However, they were able to persevere together.

Other stars of the show include Yasmin Finney (Doctor Who, Mars) as Elle, William Gao (Sunrise, Crescendo) as Tao, Sebastian Croft (Doom Patrol, Love, Death & Robots) as Ben, Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) as Nick’s mom, and more.

With the premiere of season two less than two months away, fans can look forward to soon seeing Nick and Charlie persevere through more challenges as they enter a new chapter of their relationship.
