Netflix’s fantasy drama series, The Witcher is embarking on a whole new adventure with the the star of the show Geralt, once played by Henry Cavill (Enola Holmes, Man of Steel), now portrayed by Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games, Empire State). According to Screenrant, this won’t be the only major change within the casting, as we will be having Peter Mullan (Ozark, The Vanishing), who is known for his role as Durin in the Ring of Power taking the role as the monster slayer, Venemir, previously played by Kim Bodnia (Momo, The Pusher).
Stated by Screenrant, the reason behind the cast change was due to scheduling conflicts with Bodnia, and the team needed Venemir, who is going to be an importance in the upcoming season. Many viewers are sad to here that Bodnia will not return, but they also agree that the team made a solid recasting with Mullan, who has experience within the fantasy genre.
Screenrant reports, Mulan’s arrival will surely bring new energy to the season, as well as a new dynamic toward Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt. What we currently know about the approaching seasons is that the group has split up with one another and are now leading their own journeys with hope to be reunited with each other.
According to Screenrant, in the last season, Ciri, played by Freya Allan (Gunpowder Milkshake, Into the Badlands), finds herself transported to a different location where she meets the Rats. Meanwhile, Yennefer, portrayed by Anya Chalotra (Two Neighbors, The ABC Murders), continues to assist the sages on the Continent. Geralt reunites with Jaskier, played by Joey Batey (The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, Blood Origin), and they embark on a mission to find Ciri.
