TNT Picks Up Pilot for ‘Let the Right One In’ Vampire Series

Just when you thought that television couldn’t handle another vampire series, it was announced that TNT is currently developing the pilot for Let the Right One In, a drama based on the Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist’s best-selling novel.

Based on Lindqvist’s 2004 novel which then inspired the 2008 Swedish horror movie, Let the Right One In is about a young, tormented boy, who finds solace in befriending a female vampire who is about his age. As she moves into the boy’s Vermont town with her strange caretaker, a series of murders catches the attention of law enforcement.

Jeff Davis penned the script and will serve as executive producer along with Marty Adelstein (AquariusPrison BreakTeen Wolf) and Becky Clements (Aquarius, Last Man Standing) of Tomorrow Studios, plus Simon Oakes (Women in Black, Let Me In) of Hammer Films, Alex Brunner (Dark Places), and Carl Molinder who produced the original screenplay. The pilot is being produced by Tomorrow Studios in association with Studio T.

Let the Right One In was being developed by A&E and A+E Studios before it moved to TNT earlier this year. Casting has already begun for the two leads, THR reported.

Let the Right One In combines elements of horror, revenge thriller and adolescent romance into an unforgettable and truly unsettling tale,” says Aubrey. “This novel is a watershed of rich storytelling, making it an abundant source from which Jeff, Marty, Becky and Simon will bring to life in this all-new adaptation.”
