Timothée Chalamet Set to Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ with boygenius as Musical Guest

Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name, Little Women) is making a return to studio 8H. In his grand promotional season for his two new films coming out, Wonka and Dune 2, he is set to host Saturday Night Live on Saturday, November 11. The new hosting gig was revealed during last week’s show, hosted by Nate Baragatze.

Chalamet was originally a host back in December of 2020. He took to the stage in sketches alongside his buddy Pete Davidson (King Of Staten Island) and won over audiences with some silly sketches that had funny bits about personifying COVID into a dramatic familial soap opera, cowboy and his tiny horse, and some questionable performances of amateur SoundCloud rappers on a talk show (with some entertaining character breaks sprinkled in, much to the audience’s enjoyment). The sketches that Chalamet starred in during his first hosting gig have grown very popular on the internet, with the views on several of the videos in the millions.

The musical guest for the episode will be the indie-rock supergroup boygenius which consists of singer-songwriters Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker. This will be their first time on SNL as they tour their latest album, the record, which was released on March 31, 2023, and their latest EP, the rest, which came out earlier this month on October 13.

Chalamet and boygenius are some very popular icons among Gen Z, so the younger viewers are in for a treat as some of their favorites are taking the stage. Recent hosts of SNL include Davidson with musical guest Ice Spice (“Barbie World,” “In Ha Mood”), Bad Bunny (“Perro Negro,” Monaco”) who did double duty with both hosting and performing as musical guest, and Nate Bargatze (The Standups) who was paired with the Foo Fighters (One by One, But Here We Are). This season has also been littered with cameos, from Mick Jagger (“Paint It, Black,” “Satisfaction”), Lady Gaga (“Poker Face,” “Bad Romance”), Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, Game of Thrones), Travis Kelce, and Taylor Swift (“Bad Blood,” “You Belong With Me”), just to name a few.

Chalamet’s episode of Saturday Night Live will air Saturday, November 11 at 11:30 pm on NBC. His new movie Wonka will hit theaters on December 15.
