Three New Cast Members Have Joined Season 50 of NBC’S ‘SNL’

Saturday Night Live has added three additional cast members for its 50th season via The Hollywood Reporter. Emil Wakin (Black Market With Michael K. Williams), Jane Wickline (My First Film) and Ashley Padilla (Summer Camp) are joining SNL as 2024-2024 performers.

The season’s premiere is on September 28 with most of the previous crew members, actors and producers. Chloe Toast (Sweethearts), Molly Kearney (A League Of Their Own) and Punkie Johnson (Bottoms) are leaving the team as they made public their resignation in the midst of the summer.

Devon Walker (Big Mouth), Marcelo Hernandez (Impractical Jokers) and Michael Longfellow (Ghosts of Ruin), who are transitioning from featured actors to head stars, are a few of the show’s veterans who will come back for the 50th season.a previous performer, Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids) is scheduled to impersonate Vice President and Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Rudolph had played the role of Harris countless times in the 2020 campaign, as well as months after Harris and President Joe Biden were in office.

The show will commemorate its 50 years of being on air that, which includes a three-hour prime time special on February 16, 2025, alongside this show’s standard episodes scheduled to release this season. The official 50th anniversary is October 11, 2025.

A film based on how the show came to be directed by Jason Reitman (Juno), Saturday Night Live, will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival and be released to the public on September 27.

Wakim (Hunters) has performed on the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and The Tonight Show, as well as opening for Hassan Minhaij (It Ends With Us, No Hard Feelings), Roy Wood Jr. (The Daily Show, This Is Not Happening) and Nikki Glaser (FBoy Island, Lovers And Liars). At the 2022 Festival, he was selected for the  “New Face of Comedy”. Wickline is on the team for the sketch show on Tiktok called Stapleview. Padilla (Grapefruit) has been an actress and writer since 2021 and has been featured in Night Court and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
