According to CBR Lauren Hissirch has confirmed that Netflix’s series, The Witcher, based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s iconic book series, as well as the very popular video game series, will make sure to show the legendary Geralt Of Rivia’s disability in the future of the show. With the success of the first season, it now seems the show will use the future to build on the character of Geralt, portrayed by Henry Cavill (Man Of Steel, The Man Named U.N.C.L.E). After he finally united with his child of surprise at the end of the first season.
In the books, the character, Geralt sustains a very serious injury, which ends up shattering his femur along with his elbow. While the injuries cared too, Geralt never fully healed and had lasting issues throughout the following books because of this, such as not being able to ride a horse and having chronic pain throughout.
While the books introduce the disability to Geralt, the games never really explored or touched on the fact that he was disabled. Leaving many true fans upset, because of how powerful it is to see a character like Geralt, who hunts and kills monsters for a living, having a disability. Making it possible for some fans with similar issues to connect even more with the character.

While unfortunate for Geralt, the hardcore fans are sure to appreciate how honest the adaptation looks to be. Set to debut sometime in 2021, only time will tell the fate of Geralt of Rivia.
