‘The Witcher’ Reaches Top Ten List On Netflix Again After The Release Of Volume Two

Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (Daredevil, The West Wing), The Witcher debuted on Netflix in 2019. For the third season of the series, the episodes were split into two volumes. The first volume premiered on June 29th, while the second volume was released on July 27th. According to Deadline, the first volume of episodes reached the top ten list on Netflix when they were released. Now, with the release of volume two, The Witcher has once again claimed a spot on Netflix’s top ten list.

As Deadline notes, after volume two was released, the third season of The Witcher gained an additional 7.8 million views within just a few days. Therefore, in total, the third season has amassed 47.7 million views.

Additionally, according to Deadline, volume two of The Witcher resulted in Sweet Magnolias being pushed from the number one spot to the number two spot.

The Witcher television series is based on The Witcher book series created by author Andrzej Sapkowski (Blood of Elves, The Last Wish). The third season revolves around the witcher Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Enola Holmes), and Princess Cirilla, played by Freya Allan (Gunpowder Milkshake, The Third Day). In this season, Princess Cirilla, better known as Ciri, must go into hiding with the help of Geralt and others.

Other stars of the series include Anya Chalotra (Wanderlust, Sherwood) as Yennefer, Joey Batey (Knightfall, The White Queen) as Jaskier, MyAnna Buring (In the Dark, Ripper Street) as Tissaia, Mimi Ndiweni (Mr. Selfridge, Dishonour) as Fringilla, Eamon Farren (Chained, Love Is Now) as Cahir, and more.

Now that all episodes of The Witcher season three are available on Netflix, fans can continue to watch and re-watch the series. Additionally, fans can look forward to an already confirmed season four, which will feature Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games, The Last Song) in the role of Geralt.
