According to Deadline, Kelley Mack, known for The Walking Dead and Chicago Med, among several other roles in TV series, films, and commercials, died on August 2 in Cincinnati. Her family stated that she lost an unfortunate battle with glioma; she was 33.
Mack was in five Season Nine episodes of AMC’s The Walking Dead in 2018-19, playing Addy. During that season’s finale, Addy alongside 10 other characters were abducted by the Whisperers, with fatal results. Other credits include guest shots on TV series such as Chicago, 9-1-1, Schooled (the Modern Family spinoff), and several miniseries. Furthermore, she appeared in feature films including Mr. Manhattan, Broadcast Signal Intrusion with Harry Shum Jr. (Glee, Burn), and the upcoming Universal, Deadline adds.
Born on July 10 1992 in Cincinnati as Kelley Lynne Klebenow, Mack started her acting career in commercials as a child. She was given an Acting Award from Tisch School of the Arts for her debut role as Chloe in The Elephant Garden (2008). This film won the Student Visionary Award at the Tribeca Film Festival, Deadline notes.
Mack spent 11 years in Los Angeles, working in TV, film, and commercials, as well as voice-over roles. She recorded for the Oscar Award-winning Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse, as the voice match for Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy. Additionally, she produced several short films, such as A Knock at the Door, which earned nominations at FilmQuest and received the Festival Award at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival, as mentioned by Deadline.
Deadline reports that she was an executive producer on Universal, which is an upcoming feature film from producer and writer Stephen Portland (Something). She is also starring in this film. Moreover, Mack edited and directed the 2015 short film Positive and was cinematographer on the 2014 short The Kingdom.
Mack is survived by her parents Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow; her brother, Parker; her sister, Kathryn; grandmother and grandfather Lois and Larry Klebenow; and her boyfriend, Logan Lanier. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. August 16 at the Glendale Lyceum in Glendale, Ohio. The family also is planning a celebration of her life for a future date in Los Angeles for her colleagues and friends that live in that area, Deadline finally states.
