The gate to the Upside Down has finally closed, but not before taking the world’s largest streaming service down with it. According to Deadline, Netflix’s servers with the new years is crushed under the numbers of viewers planning to watch the highly anticipated final season of Stranger Things, with various crashes along on watching the two hour and half episode. Across various social media, fans have been expressing their surprise to the platform. The series has take over the new year by securing the top spot within the top shows on the platform.

Reported by Deadline, one person goes on to write on X stating,” NETFLIX CRASHED PLS LET ME IN I DO NOT HAVE NEW YEARS PLANS.” Another fan’s posts goes to express,” my netflix has crashed twice already three mins into the stranger things finale” and “WHAT DO U MEAN NETFLIX IS DOWN [NOW].” These crash incidents serves as a testament that the series is widely recognized as a global phenomena and continues to grow with every new installment within the franchise.

Deadline reports, even though some viewers are experiencing this little obstacle, they can still witness the final season on the big screen, with showings spamming across 350 theaters. With a feature-length runtime finale, the series conclusion end has garnered an outstanding 34.5 billion views, which goes on to show how the interdimensional  journey has truly capture the hearts across the world.  The final scene of the series showcases the cast going down their path, and figuring out who their own identity.

This isn’t the end of the franchise, as spinoffs are currently in the works, which includes a an animated series called Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, which will tell the events in between the second and third season. According to mxdwn, another project that has already gain popularity is the playwright, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which prequel to the events within the main series. All seasons of Netflix’s Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix.
