The Third Season Of Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’ Keeps The First Spot On The Streamer’s Top 10 Chart

Bridgerton‘s third season keeps breaking Netflix’s records. Season three of the famous Regency-era series is now dominating the top spot of the streamer’s Top 10 chart, Comicbook.com reports. Specifically, it is now at 92.8 million hours viewed, and 25.3 million views on the streamer, which defeats the numbers reached in the second season of Bridgerton, which was in the second position of the chart in view numbers. The second season is now at the fourth position of the chart, and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is in the number eight spot. This third season is also predicted to be in Netflix’s Top 10 all-time list.

In the third season of Bridgerton, the focus is on the couple of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, according to Comicbook.comPenelope has decided to give up on the hope that Colin will realize she is the woman he is destined to be with. Instead, she decides to find a husband to improve her position in the Ton, while also managing her double life as the writer, Lady Whistledown. Penelope feels her confidence is beginning to lack as her attempts at looking for a husband fail miserably. Because of that, Colin, returned from his summer travels in Europe, proposes an offer to Penelope: mentoring her to raise her confidence and help her find a husband.

Furthermore, according to Comicbook.com, Penelope’s lessons begin working on Colin a little too well, Colin has to fight his rising feelings towards Penelope and realize if he truly loves her or only considers her as a friend. Also, Penelope’s drift with Eloise makes her rising position in the ton a lot more complicated.

Julia Quinn (The Duke and I, The Viscount Who Loved Me, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton), the writer of all of the Bridgerton books, has shared that, according to Comicbook.com, she gave her blessing to Shonda Rhimes (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice) to change the third season plotline to focus on Penelope and Colin since the order of the books is different.

“I think they had just felt they laid down so much groundwork because we already know Penelope,” Quinn explained via Comicbook.com. “We haven’t met Benedict’s love interest. I suppose people are gonna say, ‘They could have introduced her.’ But the fact of the matter is, we haven’t. And what I try to tell people is, look, once a character has their season, we don’t see them as much, right? So, if you love benedict, you want him to wait as long as possible.”

According to Comicbook.com, Quinn also knows which of the love stories from the Bridgerton books will be the fourth season’s main focus but does not want to reveal any details.

“I can’t say a word, I’ll get in so much trouble,” Quinn recently shared via Comicbook.com. “I do know, but I can’t say yes.”

According to Comicbook.com, season three’s showrunner, Jess Brownell (Inventing Anna, Scandal), has explained that the second part of the third season will give fans clues about the couple that will be in season four.

“That’s a good question. You have asked the question in a very crafty way because you just asked me what Season 4 is going to be. I won’t give you anything, but I do think that there are some clues at the end of Season 3 of where we’re headed,” Brownell teased via Comicbook.com. “So yeah, I leave that to fans to pick apart, but I think we’re tipping our hand just a little bit.”

The first part of the third season of Bridgerton is now available to stream on Netflix. The second part will be released on June 13.
