The devil’s of Hell’s Kitchen is grappling his way back to the MCU with exciting news on the upcoming second season, but this leave fans with many question on how it will impact the iconic web slinger, Spider-Man. According to Screenrant, Daredevil: Born Again season two will follow up where the prior one ended with Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox (Stardust, The Defenders) is assembly his own army to combat the military of Wilson Fisk, played Vincent D’Onforio (Men in Black, Echo).
Stated by Screenrant, the rivalry between Spider-Man and Kingpin goes back to the comic era, in which he foils Fisk’s criminal operation, which in turn fuels Fisk’s anger for the webbed hero.
Reported by the series show runner Dario Scardapane (Faceless, Memory) and executive producer Sana Amanat (Ms.Marvel, Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors) in an interview with Screenrant speak the superhero’s connection in which Amanat’s states first,”I don’t know. I don’t think so. It would be great. Sure. I’d assume so. She further adds to her statement, “but that’s not the story that we’re telling.” She stressed that “I have no idea what they’re doing in Spider-Man, honestly. I haven’t read anything yet.”
Scardapane elaborated to Screenrant that “we’re in a shared universe together, but I would say just the Daredevil comic books, the Punisher comic books depicted a certain tone and an idea of New York in a different way than Spider-Man’s, but they both exist in the same universe.” Winderbaum concluded with, “It’s similar. Everything lines up and the impacts are felt, but we’re able to tell different stories.”
Regardless of the fan’s speculation of the webslinger making an appearance, the producers make it apparent that the series will be focusing on Daredevil. The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is said to grapple onto Disney+ on March 24, with new weekly episodes released every Tuesday. While waiting, viewers can rewatch the entire previous season to recap on the events leading up to the battle for New York.
