John David Washington, the son of Denzel Washington, will be a regular in Ballers, the HBO comedy-drama produced by Dwayne Johnson.

Ballers is based on the lives of several athletes from Miami. Washington will play the role of Ricky, who is a competitive professional athlete. Denzel Washington’s son played football in college and had a small part in Malcom X (1992).

According to Deadline, Donovan Carter, the former Bruins player, is cast in this half-hour dramedy. Carter will play the role of Vernon, who is a family oriented pro athlete.
