According to ComicBook, The Residence, an up-and-coming TV show on Netflix, has remained unfinished following the death of cast member Andre Braugher. Reportedly, only half of the show was filmed before he died. The actor passed away this past Monday.
Comicbook stated that Braugher appeared in a number of notable titles such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Homicide: Life on the Street. However, his final on-screen appearance is The Residence, which is a murder-mystery drama produced by Shondaland. However, only four of the eight episodes wound up being filmed before the actor passed. This is due to the writers’ strike and the actors’ strike that occurred earlier this year.
ComicBook states that The Residence is a murder mystery caper set in the “upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs” of the White House. When an eccentric detective, Cordelia Cupp, arrives to investigate the homicide, the personal narratives of the 100-plus personnel and staff begin to unravel. The series features other names such as Uzo Aduba (Really Love), Susan Kelechi Watson (This Is Us), Jason Lee (A Guy Thing), Ken Marino (Marry Me), Edwina Findley (The Power), Randall Park (WandaVision), Molly Griggs (Dr. Death), Al Mitchell (just Mercy), Dan Perrault (Players), Spencer Garrett (Match), Bronson Pinchot (Clowning), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Cocaine Bear), and Mary Wiseman (Craft & Burn).
Braugher was set to portray White House Chief Usher. A.B. Wynter. According to Comicbook, the show was set to return to filming on January 2nd, 2024, however, due to the newfound circumstances, it is unknown whether this will be the case or not. It also has not yet been stated if the show will continue despite the death of Braugher. Along with this, fans are eager to know what will happen if the show does continue and what will happen to his character following his death, says Comic Book TV.
