Two legendary actor from the Matt Smith’s (House of the Dragon, Morbius) era of Doctor Who have reunited for a new project, a themed podcast titled The Pondcast. According to Screenrant, the names in question are Karen Gillian (Jumanji, Guardians of the Galaxy) and Arthur Darvill (Legends of Tomorrow, The Sandman), who played Amy and Rory within the popular sci-fi series and have became fan favorites. The podcast is a way for the duo to celebrate and look back on their time on the British show.
Darvill reveals his reaction with Screenrant about the project “I‘ve not seen half of it, so we’re going to rewatch it and talk about it. We’ve recorded a few episodes already and it’s really fun. It is just me and Karen messing around, so I’m not quite sure how many new facts you’ll get, but it’s really nice to kind of go back and reminisce about it.” The duo won’t be the only ones in the podcast as the series showrunners, Steven Moffat (Dracula, Sherlock) will be a guest in one of the recorded episodes.
Reported by Screenrant, the duo expressed their excitement of willingly returning back on the series. Arthur goes on to reminisce on the show’s experiences,”Yeah, if the scripts were right – it was so funny when we left, we all were like, ‘No, never going back. It was too good. We don’t want to ruin it.” These statements provide a clear picture of how the actors have fond memories of the exciting journey of working on the set of the famous franchise.
While The Pondcast doesn’t have an official launch date yet, with recording already underway, the will surely be a delightful trip for not only the cast but for the fans of the series as well. All seasons of Doctor Who are available to stream on Disney+.
