On New Year’s Day, the classic NBC sitcom The Office marked its transition between streaming platforms from Netflix to the NBC streaming service, Peacock TV. Following its transition to Peacock, The Office released to its fans a brand-new cold open that was on the chopping block during edits for the series’ final season, according to Deadline. The four-minute deleted scene featured members of the Dunder Mifflin office attempting to construct the idea that Dwight was an habitant in the story world of The Matrix. The Office debuted on NBC in 2005 and ran for a total of nine seasons, consisting of 201 episodes before the series’ conclusion in 2013. The sitcom centered on the co-workers of the paper company Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and the crazy working environment that exists under its boss Michael Scott. The series cast includes Steve Carell (The Big Short) as Michael Scott, John Krasinski (A Quiet Place) as Jim, Jenna Fischer (Blades of Glory) as Pam, Rainn Wilson (Juno) as Dwight Schrute, and many more.
The NBC sitcom has now officially transitioned to Peacock TV for streaming rights in which its first two seasons are available for free with the remaining seasons being available to the subscribers to the newly released streaming platform.
