The Mandalorian has already announced their start up for season 2, and it now features Carl Weathers who will rise to the director role for an episode. Fans of the all-time acclaimed Star Wars franchise will get a creative taste of what Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have in store for the live action TV series.
The first episode of The Mandalorian isn’t even out yet, but Disney is confident in their plan and will nevertheless move forward with the second season. The only change known at the present is Jon Favreau momentary switching roles while Carl Weathers is stepping up from cast member to director.
With all the buzz for the first season, it’s a great indicator that Disney is working out the technicalities and making things right. While the general public isn’t at all familiar with the story, some of the lucky folks who have seen the beginning footage were met with phenomenal first impressions.
Little is actually known about the show, and “that’s half the joy of it” as director Favreau explains. Established characters will highly be considered by Filoni to join the show as well, but nothing is set in stone.
What we do know is that it’s set to release the same time the new streaming service Disney+ launches. Disney originals like The Mandalorian and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will be highlights of the site and certainly some of the most anticipated contributions. In the meanwhile, fans can hope that the live action series will merge with the original and bring back more of what they already love.
