The Haunting Continues: Netflix Renews ‘Haunted Hotel’ For Season Three

Netflix has officially renewed its animated comedy Haunted Hotel for third season, with new episodes expected to premiere in 2027. According to Deadline, the announcement arrives just ahead of Halloween, following the show’s successful first two seasons on the streaming platform.

The renewal follows strong viewership numbers for the supernatural comedy. Season two debuted on Netflix’s Global English TV Top Ten list, while the first season has accumulated more than 15 million views since its September 2025 premiere.

Created by Matt Roller (Rick and Morty), Haunted Hotel follows a single mother attempting to manage the Undervale, a hotel filled with ghosts and other supernatural creatures. Her ghost brother, two children, and a demon trapped inside a young boy’s body help her navigate the chaos.

Deadline notes the show’s second season continued exploring the family’s unusual living arrangements while introducing more supernatural disasters. With another season confirmed, viewers can expect the Undervale’s growing collection of ghosts and monsters to remain central to the story.

The voice cast includes Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth, Saturday Night Live), Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings, Scrubs) and Skyler Gisondo (The Righteous Gemstones, Santa Clarita Diet). Natalie Palamides (Powerpuff Girls, The Real Housewives of North Pole) and Jimmi Simpson (Westworld, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) also star.

Roller expressed his excitement about returning to the animated series, teasing even bigger stories for the upcoming season. “Season three is full of the biggest, funniest, scariest, saddest, and Abaddoniest stories we’ve ever told, and I can’t wait for everyone to see them,” Roller said.

Roller will continue serving as executive producer alongside Chris McKenna (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Far From Home), Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty, Community), and Steve Levy (Rick and Morty, Community). Erica Hayes returns as supervising director, while Titmouse will handle animation production.

Additional executive producers include Chris Prynoski (Big Mouth, The Legend of Vox Machina), Shannon Prynoski (Big Mouth, The Legend of Vox Machina), Antonio Canobbio (Big Mouth, The Legend of Vox Machina), and Ben Kalina (Big Mouth, The Legend of Vox Machina). Although Netflix has confirmed a 2027 premiere, it has not announced an exact release date or further details about the upcoming season’s storylines.
