Fans of the acclaimed anime series Great Pretender are in for a treat, as a sequel series has been announced. According to Screenrant, WIT Studio released a teaser trailer and pic announcing Great Pretender razbliuto. While the new series doesn’t have a firm release date, it is set to premiere sometime in 2024. View the video below.
In the first season, we saw our main protagonist, con man Makoto voiced by Alan Lee (Saints Row), get scammed by another, Laurent Thierry, voiced by Aaron B. Phillips( Belle). Makoto vows to get revenge, which ultimately leads to the two being entangled in a series of elaborate cons that take them all over the world. The duo were accompanied by Abigail Jones, voiced by Kausar Mohammed(Camp Cretaceous), who is Laurent’s second-in-command. The new teaser and photo hint at an all-new cast, featuring a character named Dorothy, who was introduced in the final arc of the first series.
The Great Pretender is a stylish anime highly praised for its well-developed characters, intricate plot, and stunning animation and art style. The second season is sure to meet all of the fans’ expectations, and the community can not wait to see what new adventures await in this season.
Unlike the first season, Great Pretender Razbliuto will be available to stream on Crunchyroll instead of Netflix. According to Screenrant, back in 2020, even though Netflix has international broadcast rights, they passed the new season onto Crunchyroll. The reason behind this situation could be that splitting the anime between two mutually exclusive services would have enraged the fans, and would make it difficulty to follow the continuity.
Overall, Great Pretender Razbliuto is sure to be an exciting season and a must-watch for all the fans of the original. Just like with the previous season, this one is sure to be packed with tons of exciting fight scenes with a little mixed in. The sequel will surely be a hit and expand on the world and the story of the first season.
