The highly antiquated second season of the live adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece has officially wrapped production, in which Netflix released behind-the-scenes photos across their various social media platforms. According to Comicbook,Netflix had released preview images on their X page which showcase the Straw Hat pirates which consists of Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy (The Imperfects), Nami, played by Emily Rudd (Delicious in Dungeon), Zoro, played by Mackenyu (Rurouni Kenshin) Sanji, played by Taz Skylar (Cleaner) and Usopp, played by Jacob Gibson (Black Prom) standing what looks to be Logue Town.
The social media post has the description stating, ‘Straw Hats, our course is set! Season 2 production has officially wrapped, and the Grand Line is fast approaching. Destiny awaits; are you ready to answer the call?’ According to Comicbook, along with the core members returning, the second season will also showcase iconic characters such as Katey Sagal (Pitch Perfect 2) as Dr. Kureha, Charitha Chandran (Eternals) as Vivi Nefertari and Rigo Sanchez (Outer Banks) as Dragon.
Along with the Loguetown arc, the second season will surely cover other ones such as Little Garden, Whisky Peak, and Drum Island. The upcoming season will undoubtedly follow the same format as the previous one. According to Comicbook, both Robin and Chopper will undoubtedly be added to the Straw Hats in the second, but details about who will be portraying them are still being kept under wraps.
With production being complete, the team is now working on the post-production with cleaning up the CGI effects and a potential premiere in late 2025 or early 2026. While waiting on further news on the release date for the second season to arise, the entire first season of the live-action One Piece is available to stream on Netflix.
