Exciting news on the future of the iconic fantasy series, Game of Thrones, has just been revealed by HBO’s CEO, Casey Bloys. According to Screenrant, at the moment, the existing spin-offs, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are scheduled for a fourth and second seasons, respectively. The former’s fourth will be the series’ last. Game of Thrones has transported its audience into the vast continent of Westeros, filled with many intriguing characters, surprising plot twists and breathtaking battles that reshaped the landscape of television forever.
Reported by Screenrant, within an interview with Deadline regarding the 21 wins that HBO obtained at the Emmys, Bloys goes on to state on the potential of spin-offs to further expand the franchise.” You mean in addition to the Emmy-nominated Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is coming out in the first half of ’27? And House of the Dragon? Besides that, no, nothing else.”
The executive’s brief statement comes ahead of the renewed speculation of Maisie Williams (The New Mutants, The New Look) reprising her role as Arya Stark, and reuniting with her siblings in the long-rumored Jon Snow sequel. The spinoff would follow the bastard Stark, played by Kit Harrington (How To Train Your Dragon 2. The Eternals), who was last seen returning back to the wall.
With the promise of upcoming spin-off series, it seems that the rich, intricate history of Westeros is set to continually expand well into the future. All seasons of Game of Thrones, along with its spin-offs House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, are available to stream on HBO Max.
