New leaked set photos from HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series suggest major expansion, as well as a major character change from the book. According to Screenrant, production of the series has began underway with the location of it being filmed in Lustleigh.
The series already has a star studded that will give a grand performance, which compromises of Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) as Rebeus Hagrid, Janet Mcteer (Gangs of London, Kaos) as Minvera McGonagall and John Lithgow (Shrek, Dexter) as Albus Dumbeldore.
Reported by Screenrant the photos in this series reveal that the day Voldemort killed James and Lily Potter in Godric’s Hollow was on Halloween. The behind-the-scenes footage showcases numerous citizens dressed in costumes walking down a street, which may lead to Godric’s Hollow. Unlike the first book by J.K. Rowling (Prisoner of Azkaban, The Deathly Hallows), the night in question was never given an exact date and was only referred to through flashbacks.
Stated by Screenrant, this strategic change by the production team is targeted on expanding the beloved Wizarding World and bringing a wider scope. Viewers can expect additional changes within that will be different from films and the book which will aim to enhance the plot and characteristics of the series. This series will surely reignited the whimsical and fantasy theme adventure that have made the beloved franchise is well known for.
The series won’t stop at just one season, as it already has a multi-season order. The Harry Potter reboot doesn’t currently have an exact release date, but it is scheduled to premiere in late 2026/ early 2027 and consist of multiple episodes.
