The CW Adds New Drama-Action Series ‘Sight Unseen’ To Roster

The CW is set to launch a new drama-action series entitled Sight Unseen. According to TVLine, the series will welcome back one of the network’s alums, Daniel Gillies (The Originals, Spider-Man 2), and will feature the story of a blind homicide detective named Tess Avery.

Actress Dolly Lewis (The Dutchman’s Pipe, Vanishing Point) will portray the detective who is pushed to quit the force after an incident at work almost gets her partner, Jake, as played by Gillies, killed. In spite of her disability, Tess yearns to solve the cases that were left behind alongside some remote help from a professional eagle-eyed woman named Sunny, as portrayed by Agam Darshi (Sanctuary, You Me Her), with agoraphobia, who lives over 3,000 miles away.

As per TVLine, part of the official logline for Sight Unseen, via the CW, states that Sunny is *spoiler alert* “hiding a secret of her own — a violent event from her past she hopes to one day solve.”

TVLine notes that the series’ writers and showrunners, Karen Troubetzkoy (18 to Life, 15/Love) and Nikolijne Troubetzkoy (19-2, Killjoys), told them, “The heart of Sight Unseen is the relationship between Tess and Sunny.” The showrunners then explained that the series will host “suspenseful action sequences from a POV we’ve never seen before. It’s challenging, authentic, and will keep audiences on the edge of their seat.”

Additionally, TVLine obtained an exclusive teaser of the debut episode in which the producers of Sight Unseen note that the clip documents “the double-edged sword of Tess’ dilemma: To do what she is driven to do (solve crime), Tess must put her life in the hands of the stranger who guides her. But who is Sunny—and can we trust her?”

Head over to TVLine for an all-exclusive sneak peek into Sight Unseen, which debuts on Wednesday, April 3, on The CW.
