The notorious Samantha Jones will be making her appearance on the upcoming season of the Carrie Diaries and will be played by actress Lindsey Gort, reported the Huffington Post.
The Carrie Diaries, prequel to Sex and the City, follows main character Carrie Bradshaw (played by Annasophia Robb) during her younger years in New York City. In the HBO series and films, the role of Samantha was played by actress Kim Cattrall. The original series was based on the books written by Candace Bushnell, noted Deadline.
The series producers announced Carrie will meet Samantha through a “surprising connection,” as quoted by the Huffington Post. According to Deadline, “Samantha is a ballsy, beautiful and sexy young woman from the panhandle of Florida who has made her way — and already a name for herself — in the rock ’n’ roll scene of 1980s New York.”
The Sex and the City series surrounds Carrie and her three best friends, including Samantha. She is the first of the three characters to be introduced in the prequel series.
Season 2 of the Carrie Diaries will return to The CW on Friday, October 25 at 8 p.m.
