‘The Boys: Mexico’ Currently In The Works at Prime Video

According to Deadline, the universe of The Boys has officially begun expanding. There will be a new series coming with the title called The Boys: Mexico. It comes from Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Blue Beetle) and Diego Luna (Narcos: Mexico) and Gael García Bernal (Bad Education) are set to be executive producers.

Deadline reported that there is no official plot for this series that has been provided to the public. The show will follow the success of The Boys, which is currently in the process of making a season four. Two other spin off series were released in 2023; the animated The Boys Presents: Diabolical as well as the college spinoff Gen V. Gen V was also widely successful and has been given a season two.

Deadline also stated that The Boys is based on a comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson that “shares a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes—who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods—abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought—the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super-powerful.”

The Boys is developed by Eric Kripke and his Kripke Enterprises, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures, Neil H. Moritz’s Original Film, Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. Deadline has revealed that they are currently still searching for a showrunner and a director for the program. The show has also not yet begun casting, but Luna and García Bernal are reportedly considering taking minor roles in the series. The show is also currently in the process of script-wrong as well as outlining budgets.
