‘The Boys’ Cast Member Releases Teaser for Season Four

It’s been a few months since The Boys fans received any news regarding the show, so, one of the cast members decided to take matters into their own hands. Homelander himself, Antony Starr (American Gothic, Banshee), gave fans a glimpse into the new season of the popular show, according to Comicbook. In the video, Colby Minifie (Lemons, Homebody) plays Ashley Barrett, the newly-minted Vought CEO. In the short Instagram reel, Minifie goes over the company’s accomplishments.

The “accomplishments” pick off where season three’s finale left. In the video, we see Ashley happily announce that Homelander’s approval rating has gone up, even after the events of the last episode which include killing a civilian in front of a crowd. The teaser also shows Vought’s plans for Black Noir, played by Nathan Mitchell (Ginny & Georgia, iZombie), who was murdered by Homelander in the last season. Then their plans following the death of Queen Maeve, played by Dominique McElligott (The Last Tycoon, House of Cards), and their plans for the departure of Starlight, played by Erin Moriarty (Jessica Jones, Red Widow). According to Comicbook, over the last month the cast members of The Boys have been finishing  their filming schedules ahead of the series’ release later in the year. Both the new season of The Boys and its live-action spinoff series Gen V are set to premiere sometime this year. According to Comicbook, the possibility of a crossover is high and has fans wondering what that will be like.

The new spinoff will be set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes, run by Vought International. The show will explore the lives of the hormonal and competitive Supes as they put their boundaries to the test.

Gen V will star Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase, The Terminal List), Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Please Baby Please), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, After We Fell), Jason Ritter (Raising Dion, A Million Little Things), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters, Summerland), and Clancy Brown (SpongeBob Square Pants, Dexter: New Blood). Minifie will also make a guest star appearance as Vought CEO Ashley Barrett.

The Boys follows a group of non-powered humans that seek to expose the superheroes for who they really are. The group, which calls themselves the Boys, is composed of Billy Butcher played by Karl Urban (Star Trek, Thor: Ragnarok), Hughie Campbell played by Jack Quaid (Scream, The Hunger Games), MM played by Laz Alonso (Wrath of Man, L.A.’s Finest), Frenchie played by Tomer Capone (Fauda, One on One), and Kimiko played by Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad, Craig of the Creek).

Hughie’s life changes drastically after his girlfriend gets accidentally killed by superhero A-Train played by Jessie T. Usher (Smile, Dangerous Lies). After this incident, Hughie meets Butcher and starts working with him to reveal the dark secrets of the superheroes working for Vough, the company in charge of the so-called heroes. The company is also in charge of the publicity for the heroes and so they are aware of all the problems the heroes cause to everyday people. The seven heroes working with Vought are Homelander played by Starr, Starlight also known as Annie played by Moriarty, A-train, The Deep played by Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl, Inheritance), Queen Maeve played by McElligott, and Black Noir played by Mitchell. Season four has also included actress Susan Heyward (Delilah, Orange is the New Black) who will be playing Sister Sage, and actress Valorie Curry (The Lost Symbol, The Tick) who will be playing Firecracker as new superheroes in the show.
