According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS is doubling down on its long-running daytime drama The Bold & The Beautiful, renewing the soap opera for another three seasons. The move ensures the series will remain on the network through its 41st season, which will air during the 2027–2028 television season.
The renewal brings The Bold & The Beautiful in line with CBS’s other veteran soap The Young & The Restless, which is currently in the first year of a four-season pickup also set to conclude in 2028.
The Hollywood Reporter also reports that the news comes just weeks after The Bold & The Beautiful marked its 38th anniversary on March 23. The show originally premiered in 1987 and continues to be a daytime staple, pulling in an average of 3.2 million viewers each week when accounting for delayed streaming viewership. CBS also noted that the series’ audience on Paramount+ has grown 8% compared to last season.
The cast still includes some of the show’s original stars, such as John Katherine Kelly Lang and John McCook, alongside a large ensemble featuring Kimberlin Brown (The Young & The Restless, General Hospital), Matthew Atkinson (The Young & The Restless, Jane By Design), Don Diamont (The Young & The Restless, Days Of Our Lives), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (South Beach, Final Destination 5) and many others. The series is produced by Bell-Phillip Television, with Bradley Bell (The Bold & The Beautiful, The Story Of Soaps) serving as both executive producer and head writer.
As for CBS’s newest daytime drama Beyond the Gates—which premiered in February and is the first soap in over 35 years to center Black characters—a decision on its future has yet to be announced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show launched to solid ratings, but the network hasn’t confirmed whether it will return for a second season.
For now, fans of The Bold & The Beautiful can rest easy knowing the show isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
