Ted and Rebecca are back in business. No, there will not be a season four of the beloved AppleTV+ series Ted Lasso, but, Emmy winners and stars of the series Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses, Saturday Night Live) and Hannah Waddingham (Game Of Thrones) reunited back on stage to sing their spectacular rendition of “Shallow” from the 2018 film, A Star is Born.
In the video of the performance, the arrival of Waddingham was a wonderful surprise for the audience. The song calls for two people’s voices, so naturally, fans were thinking that maybe Sudeikis would be bringing on one of his buddies from his comedic circle such as Will Forte, but as soon as the second verse began, Waddingham took the stage and the crowd could not have been more excited.
Not only that, but it is Waddington’s first time in Kansas City, the location in which the concert was held. Sudeikis has made it his mission to show her and his fellow Ted Lasso co-stars the ropes of the city and explains the itinerary with some very “Ted Lasso”-esque excitement.
“We’ll of course try to get some barbecue in them, whether they want it or not — they usually do. Then it’s getting to the hotel and they’re always welcome to go to my mom and dad’s place and hang out there,” as he rambles on about his baseball cars and other childhood memories, he jokes that this is, “really a dream come true for people.”
The benefit in question that this reunion was a part of was called THUNDERGONG!, which is a benefit concert that raises money for amputees in need. This year, the concert brought in a whopping $800,000 towards the cause. Not only that but Sudeikis had several other buddies join him on stage such as Brendan Hunt (We’re The Millers) and Will Forte (Saturday Night Live).
