Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ Season Three Delays Production Start

Landman season three will begin filming later than previously expected. According to ScreenRant, James Jordan (Lioness, Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown), who portrays Dale Bradley in the Paramount+ series, revealed that production is now expected to begin in September.

Jordan shared the update while speaking to Us Weekly at the premiere of Lioness season three. The actor also revealed that Stephen Kay (Sons of Anarchy, Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown) is expected to return to direct episodes of the upcoming season. Jordan shared, “I believe we’re bringing back the same director, Stephen Kay, who I adore. So it’s going to be a great ride. We start sometime in September, and we’ll shoot that through the first quarter of next year.”

Jordan also expressed his excitement about returning for another season, adding that the forthcoming installment will once again consist of 10 episodes.

The September production date marks a slight delay from the previously expected August start date. Paramount+ has not yet announced an official release date for the third season

The second season ended with Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton (A Simple Plan, The Man Who Wasn’t There, Sling Blade), establishing his own oil company after his departure from M-Tex, creating a new direction for the series moving forward. Jordan also indicated that he expected the majority of the cast to return for season three.

In addition to Thornton and Jordan, the cast includes Demi Moore (The Substance, Ghost, Striptease), Ali Larter (Final Destination, Legally Blonde, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), Jacob Lofland (Mud, Little Accidents, Maze Runner: The Death Cure), Michelle Randolph (1923, Scream 7, The Throwback) and Andy Garcia (Ocean’s Eleven, Geostorm, 72 Hours).

Created by Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, Wind River, Yellowstone) and Christian Wallace (Boomtown, Landman), Landman is based on the Boomtown podcast and follows the lives of executives, workers and residents navigating the high-stakes oil industry in West Texas.

All episodes of Landman are currently streaming on Paramount+.

Additional details regarding the upcoming season have not yet been announced.
